FA Cup run worth between £650,000-£700,000 so far

Not 'made' as such - because club is obviously £14.7million in the red - but according to Paul Barber value of the cup run so far (taking into account Monday's TV money) to achieving the £8million loss needed for FFP is between £650,000-£700,000 after club's costs.

A very welcome financial boost and another positive to come out of the cup run.

Cheap ticket prices, a good cup run, emergence of young players like Solly March AND a near three quarter of a million pound cash boost.

Certainly been a good competition for us this season.

I think the emergence of of the younger players has been the most valuable part of the run. The games have all been decent too, a very enjoyable run, let's hope we can keep it going after the replay.

So. The club can't have budgeted that much, if any at all. Let's assume that we therefore have £600k more than we expected to have and we expected to meet FFP anyway. We could get a couple of VERY good players on loan for £600k between now and the end of the season, making it much more likely that we'll get a playoff spot, and still meet FFP.

Re budgeting - that must certainly be true - we would not want the club to budget for a cup run. Yes, I am sure there is money available for loans if required.

A LOT of money for the remaining 3 months of the season! If we only brought in 2 players, for three months, that's £25k pw each (= £600k). That could make all the difference to a play-off push.

Depends who the players are though - 25k a week will get you a slightly below average Premier League player, who will probably not be significantly better that what we already have.
