Just watched the Coen brothers remake on the Beeb.

It's far more faithful to the spirit of the book (which is a wonderful read) than the John Wayne version.

Some wonderful acting too.

I watched it too - have to say I preferred it to the John Wayne version, much darker.

I don't generally enjoy westerns, but I did enjoy the cone version at the cinema enough to buy it on blu ray when it came out. I've not seen the original.
