Dumped out the cup with a shocking display and wasn't it for a 4 th round tie which was a big deal at the time ?

Fans absolutely furious after and baying for blood.

Only a few years back really

Wasn't it after this game that Dick Knight went on the radio and personally guaranteed five signings in January. On transfer deadline day we had made just four and so in came Shane McFaul to ensure he kept his promise.

Wonder what happened to him

3rd round probably, as we rarely got to the 4th.

We were truly awful. It was suggested later that the entire squad were ill.

I thought it was more to do with the fall out of the Savage & Callaghan departures. I hadn't heard that the squad was ill.

Michael Boulding who had scored half of their goals that season didn't play too which really added to the disappointment. Pretty sure they ended up playing then premier league Middlesborough

He was at Haringey Borough about two years ago...

McFaul is now plying his trade in the Finnish 2nd division since Irish club St Patricks didn't renew his contract in the summer.

Our record in the fa cup Is pretty poor IMO, yes we got to the final in 83 but other than that not a lot else. I would say we have be the victim of a giant killing more than us being the giant killers. Isn't Mondays game only the 5th time we have been in the fifth round ?

What? Monday's game is our first FA Cup 5th Round home tie since 1933.
