Oscar Garcia will not change his plans on team selection even if a big name comes out of the hat in the draw tomorrow
Oscar Garcia will stick to his guns in the FA Cup, even if Albion are handed the incentive of a lucrative quarter-final.
The head coach has dismissed the possibility of his plans being swayed by knowing who the Seagulls could face before Monday night’s fifth round clash against Hull City at the Amex.
The draw is tomorrow afternoon, so Albion could have the carrot of a moneyspinner against Manchester City or Chelsea or the winners of the tie between Arsenal and Liverpool if they upset Hull.
Oscar is not interested in who his team might face and is adamant it will not affect his approach to the test against the Tigers.
He said: “I am only focused on our draw and our game, not the others.
“Hull are in a comfortable position. They are always well organised. They don’t concede many goals but we need to enjoy the occasion, playing against Premier League opposition. It will be a great atmosphere under lights.”
Former Manchester United defender Steve Bruce, beaten at the Amex in the League Cup when he was Sunderland manager, took Hull up from the Championship last season when they were unfancied.
Oscar said: “He’s doing a great job, he is an experienced manager. He was a fantastic player in one of the best teams in the world. He had Alex Fergsuon and for sure he has a learnt a lot off him.”
