Was just having a think about purpose-built football grounds that now lay dormant, usually due to financial problems with the club that occupied them. I realise some of these may still be used for other purposes

There's The Ricoh Arena (capacity 32,609):

The Darlington Arena (capacity 25,000):

Nene Park (capacity 6,441):

I was going to add the McCain Stadium, but I gather that has now been demolished. Any others?

when the training complex is built will the women's team switch to using one of their pitches for home matches, like the u-21s & reserves will?

Has anyone confirmed that any teams will be using the training pitches for any competitive fixtures ??? Not sure we're building any facilities for spectators ???

There's something quite sad yet romantic about abandoned, or derelict football grounds. Looking on things like Google maps at the locations of the older grounds is quite saddening - especially when you can still clearly see where the ground was/parts of the ground (for example, Gay Meadow or Boothferry Park).

One close to my heart the MMA Arena, within the Le Mans race course.

Le Mans got relegated last year to the third tier of french football a year after failing to get promoted to the top tier by goal difference. They have gone bust and were sadly liquidated and have started now again in tier 6.

I believe the stadium, 25,000 seater has been given back to the local authority in lieu of the money they owe on it, the womens french national team have been playing their recently.

Another close to my heart is Cathkin Park, Third Lanark
