Has anyone on NSC seen him in concert? He played the Komedia last November. I'd never heard of him and didn't go. How I regret it now. The latest album is excellent. Indeed, he's a major talent.

No, but he is a former member of the Drive-by Truckers who are a favourite band of mine and carrying on the Southern Rock tradition from the likes of Skynyrd - their double album "Southern Rock Opera" is about Skynyrd. The current Mrs Jason Isbell, Amanda Shires, has also released albums that are worth a listen and the former Mrs I, Shona Tucker (also ex bass player of the DBT's) has her own band with a great title - Shona Tucker and Eye Candy - and I am waiting for her stuff to appear on Spotify being too mean to buy albums.
