Albion’s under-21s ground out a goalless draw against an experienced Bournemouth side in a friendly game today.

Charlie Harris came closest for the Seagulls, nearly snatching a late winner, but neither side could break the deadlock.Coach Simon Ireland reflected on his side's performance and said the 4G pitch made for a different type of contest.
He told seagulls.co.uk, “It was a decent game but they were a lot more experienced. The astroturf pitch made the game quicker and both teams defended well and attacked quickly.
"It was a case of adapting to the surface but it brought something different to the game, plus with a few of the lads going out on loan, we had a younger side out. For example Cam Wiltshire made his first under-21 start this season.
“It was a different type of game to the Crystal Palace one because that was a derby; it was frantic but today was a bit more cultured and there was a good tempo which obviously helped play.
“The attacking play from both sides was more calculated than the game last week, there were more passing sequences whereas Palace was more counter attacking.”
ALBION: Smith; Deen, Dallison, Rea, Hunt; Wiltshire, Monakana, Asmundsson, Harris, Starkey; Davis [Muitt 60].
Subs not used: Wray, Barclay, Barnett, Larusson.
