Thankfully I'm going up from Three Bridges at present. At least there are two lines north of Earlswood, though they're not much good if you get a broken down train at Gatwick.

I was on the last train that ran up there this morning which got past the landslip and then terminated at East Croydon because of the landslip that it had succesfully passed!

Hope it's sorted by Millwall!

Why would you be going through Oxted if your going from Brighton to London ? Besides, no trains between Brighton/Lewes and Three Bridges that day anyway due to planned works.

Dip in the track reported, had a 5mph restriction over it this morning before Network Rail decided it was too unsafe to run anything. Going to be a lot more landslides coming our way too, as the ground is soaked.

This is the sort of nonsense that I have to put up with on a very regular basis with Southern. The service they provide is absolute toilet.

No trains or even a bus service to Uckfield I see. Jesus.

Buses Redhill - Oxted to connect with a train to Uckfield which is running every 2 hours as there is only 1 diesel train on the other side of the landslip. Buses are also being arranged to run between Haywards Heath and Uckfield and other stations on the line. You can also use Brighton & Hove buses from Lewes to Uckfield, its hardly cut off.

Said train terminated at East Croydon as it was running late and probably missed its "path" to run to London Bridge.

EDIT - Uckfield line now has no service, no idea why as the train is there - assume staff cant get there to run the service.

Erm if he was coming from Uckfield, Buxted, crowborough, eridge, ashurst, cowden, hever, edenbridge, or hurst green? Or east grinstead, dormansland, or lingfield and not from brighton?

Cant the staff get on the replacement bus service then?

Of course, base for the staff that run the line is either London Bridge or Selhurst, not exactly hard to get to Redhill from there. Unless there is another issue - who knows.

For those interested - Network Rail have just stuck this picture on Twitter of the landslide at Stonegate on the Tonbridge - Hastings line.

Good to see they are throwing large numbers of people at it to get it sorted.

Dr Beeching had to leave the line to London open because he needed to get to his office from his home in East Grinstead.

Said landslide at Oxted, doesnt look major either - so shouldnt take THAT long to fix. Picture from Twitter.

Hard to tell how bad it is from that angle but the fact you can see then ends of the sleepers indicates quite a bit has dropped.
