It was a game we could have put to bed a bit earlier"
Stephen Ward
Stephen Ward admitted it was fantastic to be back at the Amex after the recent run of away games. The Seagulls sealed a 1-0 win over Doncaster Rovers to earn a first win in three league games, and the full-back echoed Oscar Garcia’s thoughts on the game, believing Albion were justified victors.
He told seagulls.co.uk, “It’s great because we’ve had a tough couple of weeks on the road and probably should have got more points than we did, but it was nice to get back here.
“It was a game we could have put to bed a bit earlier but it was nice to win 1-0 and keep a clean sheet and now we move on to Tuesday.
“I think it was probably a bit of a nervy performance as we haven’t had the best of results over the past few weeks.
“It was pleasing to get the win but there were times out there when we thought that we probably should have been more comfortable.”

Ward congratulates Leo Ulloa after the forward's winning goal
Despite the Irishman feeling the Seagulls should have come away with a bigger winning margin, Ward commended the display of Doncaster.
“We had a lot of the ball in the first half but credit to them, they came with a game plan and they defended well. It took us a long time to break them down, but I thought that we fully deserved the result in the end.
“We were disappointed to lose last week at Watford and the table wasn’t looking too great in terms of our position, but we knew that we had a run of home games coming up.
“If we can take maximum points from as many of them as possible then we will be right in there with a shout.”
