Albion women will travel to Plymouth this Sunday in the third round of the FA Cup.The Glovers beat fellow Devon side Exeter City 6-1 last week in the previous round of the competition and head coach John Donoghue confirmed his side won't be taking Argyle lightly.
He told seagulls.co.uk, “We’ve done our research on the opposition and their big victory over Exeter last week means we won’t be underestimating them.
“They’re quite a young side, so I would imagine they would have a lot of energy and tenacity in their game. I am sure they will step up their performance even more as we play a league above them.”
The recent wet weather means that consecutive home games against Lewes and Charlton had to be postponed, but the Seagulls managed to fit in a training match against Women's Super League 2 side Watford last week- drawing 2-2.
He added, “We were lucky enough to play Watford last week and they were a bit better than us, but we managed to work very hard and came back strongly in the last period to equalise.
“If we manage to get through to the next round, then we could come up against another WSL club and everyone here wants to play teams at the highest level.”
Albion will have a largely full-strength squad going into the match, with Charlie Carter (back) and Tammy Waine (groin) being the only two injury concerns.
