There is no Albion fixture engrained with as rich a history as the Doncaster Rovers one.Rovers’s last trip to the Amex was the first visit of any team to Albion’s new stadium in the league and the Yorkshire side certainly played their part in a memorable afternoon.
Billy Sharp had pounced in the first half to give Donny the lead, and it looked as if they were going to well and truly spoil the Seagulls’ party.
But substitute Will Buckley, on his Albion debut, rose from the bench to score a late brace, including a 98th minute winner to shake the brand new foundations of the Amex.

The first game at the Amex
Another emotionally charged and unforgettable clash between the two sides came 14 years earlier as the Seagulls played their last game at their original home, the Goldstone Ground.
With the stadium being sold in controversial fashion, despite increasing fan pressure to save the home of the Albion, Doncaster arrived knowing anything but defeat for them would see Brighton relegated out of the Football League.
Stuart Storer provided the magic moment for the Seagulls to ensure the club not only signed off from their home of 97 years with a 1-0 win, it also set the club up for another dramatic day just a week later when Robbie Reinelt secured the club’s Football League status away at Hereford.
Fans swarmed the pitch at full-time of that final game at the Goldstone as souvenir hunting began, leaving memorable images from one of the most famous days in the club’s history.
Just shy of ten years later Albion hosted Doncaster again, this time at Withdean, where the club donned retro Brighton strips in memory of the last game at the Goldstone, however this time Rovers took the points in a 2-0 win.
Tickets for Albion's next four home games available now online, at the Amex Ticket Office or via the telephone on 08443271901.
