Jones admitted the side were disappointed with the result at Watford

Nathan Jones says the side will pick themselves up from their 2-0 defeat at Watford.Albion were undone at Vicarage Road at the end of a run of four consecutive away fixtures, and the Welshman admitted he is looking forward to returning to the Amex next Saturday.
He told seagulls.co.uk, “It seems like we’ve been on the road forever; three away games and the cup and now it will be good to get in front of our own fans. We’ll regroup as a squad and have a good week in training.
“We’re disappointed [with the result],* as a team, as a group. We didn’t start too badly, we just conceded bad goals at bad times.
“The first came slightly against the run of play and that knocked the wind out of us a little bit. We huffed and puffed after that without really taking the game to them, then the second goal came at a bad time as well, and salt was rubbed into the wounds with the disallowed goal as well.
“It came at a time when we might have kicked on and got something out of the game so all round we’re quite frustrated really.”
With the transfer window now closed the assistant head coach also reaffirmed the club’s position when it comes to signing players, stating only the right type will be brought in.
“We always look to try and improve the squad but we won’t just bring in anyone. If we can’t bring in people we specifically want, we won’t compromise our position.
“There’s an element of frustration in that we weren’t able to add more but we couldn’t have done more with the targets we earmarked – it was frustrating we couldn’t secure them but we tried everything we could.
“The transfer window is there and it’s there for a reason. We’re proud of our squad we have assembled here and we’ve had to fight through January, but now we’ve come out of it we’re looking forward to the rest of the season.”
Meanwhile Jones confirmed Rohan Ince’s omission from the squad was due to injury and also that Jake Forster-Caskey was substituted because of a hamstring problem.
“Ince picked up a foot injury which meant that he couldn’t train for the last couple of days. He’s had a lot of football lately and that’s why we pulled him out today.
“Hopefully we will have him back in training this week.
“Jake pulled up with a little hamstring problem and that won’t be serious either. Hopefully he’ll be back soon as well, and it’ll be all hands to the pump again and we won’t be stretched.”
