17.22 is tight. I'm on the 18.22. Going up earlier for beers
SWT have a sale on. Type in Clapham Junction to the A-Z station finder, select 'SW Trains only' and it'll offer the £10 return. A return to Watford from Clapham with a railcard is a fiver.
Bingo, half your quoted price.

I was at Worthing station today and the woman in the kiosk sold a travel card for tomorrow to somebody going to Watford, looks like she made a mistake ?

So you can't buy a special travel card to include upto zone 9, which would include Watford high street ? Or a special add on (w) to include Watford junction ?

Good luck if your using Southern between Clapham and Watford - only an hourly 4-car service is running, going to be incredibly busy !!
Also, try splitting tickets at Clapham Jct too, saved me a few quid.

Got my tickets from polegate for £8 each way. Great price that, £31 all in for an away day is brilliant.
