How many 5th round games will be televised?

Tried googling, no luck. What's standard? 2? 4? All ITV? BT Sport?

Five. Three on BT Sport and two on ITV.

Believe it was 5 the year Liverpool beat us.

Five:

Manchester City v Chelsea
Sheffield United/Fulham v Nottingham Forest/Preston NE
Arsenal v Liverpool
Everton v Swansea
Sunderland v Southampton
Sheffield Wednesday v Charlton
Cardiff City v Wigan Athletic
Brighton v Hull City

Five and I reckon we will be the fifth choice.

More on BT Sport? That's a bit shit.
Yup, at least the BBC have some rights for next season.

Even with 5/8, I don't think ours would make the cut.

Wishful thinking? Cardiff and Fulham both bigger names than Hull...?

Hard choice for the TV bods actually. I would say every single game has an interest in it, apart from Sunderland/Soton....
All the rest are big teams, or non prem, or the holders.

Great draw on the face of it. Open.

They will have to announce before week Wednesday so I would think that would discount the possible Fulham game so they are left with two "upsets", being that Wigan are the holders I think they will get the fifth spot.

The opposite of wishful thinking as I don't want it to be on TV. We're the lower side at home, Fulham and Cardiff would be the higher side at home. I think ITV just have a tick box scenario and would see our match as a potential "giant killing" despite this obviously not being the case.

Yes, but they're at home against lower league teams. TV companies are only interested if the lower placed side is the home team (hence Sunderland v Kidderminster wasn't on TV, but Kidderminster v Sunderland would have been).

I know there's not a lot between us and Hull, league placings wise, but I can still see the TV executives- in the knowledge that they HAVE to select one game that's not all Premier League- going for our one. Also because they like coming to the Amex: the media facilities seem to be pretty highly thought of. Us beating Hull would be about as much of a shock as Wigan knocking Palace out, but nonetheless, I still suspect they'll pick ours over the Fulham or Cardiff games.

Which will nark me right off. Well it will if it means they shift the match to the Sunday.

Cardiff wigan is not only prem vs champ but also includes the cup holders.
Fulham are so dire that they would fancy and upset there.

The fact that Wigan are the holders is just about the only reason I can think of that the Cardiff game might be the last TV match. I suppose there's a slight chance that if Forest make it through, they might fancy that as a chance of an upset.

Let's hope so.

Better not be on TV. FA Cup 5th round at home on a Saturday at 3PM would add far more to the occasion than being on TV for me.

If after the replays it ends up being Fulham v Forest I can see that being the final selection, a very good chance of an upset in that one. I hope we are not on tv.

Apparently they have to make the decision before the replay, so might not fancy the prospect of Sheffield Utd v PKE?

I would be surprised if match is changed to Sunday as Brighton Half Marathon is on the same day. Possibly a Friday evening kick off

Supposedly they all have to be Saturday/Sunday, not on the friday, which is valentines day by the way so no thanks.

Also can't see why the Brighton Half Marathon is relevant. Isn't it done and dusted by late morning?
