Every now and then the FA Cup throws up one of those intriguing clashes, and none more so that this Saturday when Albion travel to the Potteries to take on a re-invigorated Port Vale, managed by twice former-Seagull boss Micky Adams.

Having achieved promotion from League Two last season, Vale find themselves healthily placed just outside the play-offs in Leagues One, as Adams attempts to emulate the successive promotions achievement by Brighton, when he was the chief architect. Like the Albion, Adams is in his second stint in charge of the Valiants.
And so to Saturday's match. Sky Bet, the bookmaking partner of the Albion, offer a shade of odds-on, 10/11, about the Seagulls flying into round five. The home side are 3/1, while the draw, which would bring Adams to the Amex, is 12/5. Overall, Sky Bet's odds compilers can be congratulated for accurately pricing this one up and there is not much fat in those prices. To qualify from the tie Brighton are 4/9 and Vale 13/8.
The Brighton line-up could be interesting, after Oscar Garcia made eight changes for round three - without weakening the side. LEO ULLOA catches the eye at 9/2 to score first, while lower down the lists, Solly March will have his admirers at 16/1, and KEMY AGUSTIEN is again very overpriced at 22/1. *For a third tip, take ROHAN INCE at 25/1. Ince has been vocal this week about his desire to score.
In the correct score market, if the Albion were to run riot then 4-0 and 4-1 offer some interest at 40/1 apiece but in general nothing jumps out in that category. Finally, in the half-time/full-time betting lists, take two of the options that result in an Albion victory. DRAW/BRIGHTON is 4/1 and PORT VALE/BRIGHTON is 28/1. Both are better than the outright odds-on and if the team were to start slowly, these prices could look massive at half-time.
Good luck and happy punting!
Albion v Doncaster at the Amex on February 8th, 3pm kick off. Tickets available online, at the Amex Ticket Office or via the telephone on 08443271901.
