Sky sports Pete is very reliable with his transfer stories so there is probably some truth in it. Clarke hasn't had a glittering career but is the top scorer on league one. I would say Wilson, his strike partner at Coventry, would be a better bet as he is much younger.

Spoken to some cov fans who agree Wilson is the potentially better talent but feel that Clarke has had a wake up careerwise and is ready to make the step up again.

Coventry are cash strapped. The money we got for Barnes should be more than enough to pay for Wilson.

You could be right.. certainly the one most likely to appreciate exponentially in value. When you get so used to us missing players like Le Fondre, Rhodes and Wells you begin to think we never will pick up another Ward or Zamora.
