Burnley have completed the signing of Albion striker Ashley Barnes on a three-and-a-half year contract.
Barnes, 24, heads north for an undisclosed fee of about £750,000 after agreeing personal terms and passing a medical yesterday.
Albion head coach Oscar Garcia said: "On behalf of the club, I'd like to thank Ash for his time with us.
“The majority of his time was before I arrived, but he has been a good servant to the club and we all wish him well for the future."
Barnes scored 53 goals for the Seagulls in 170 appearances and helped secure the League One title in 2010-11, scoring the winning goal in the promotion-clinching success against Dagenham.
Clarets boss Sean Dyche insists Barnes has not been signed as back-up to high-scoring front pair Danny Ings and Sam Vokes.
He said: "I can assure you Ashley is not here just to supplement the group and support the front two, but to make sure we have a real challenge up front."
