Albion could be heading for a reunion with former manager Micky Adams in the FA Cup.
The Seagulls have been drawn away to Adams' Port Vale or Plymouth Argyle in the fourth round on January 25 or 26.
Vale were held 2-2 at home by Plymouth today after leading 2-0 and now face a replay in Devon the week after next.
Crawley have the incentive of a possible home tie against Premier League*Swansea if they get past Bristol Rovers in their delayed second round tie and then win at Birmingham.
Swansea stunned Manchester United with a 2-1 win at Old Trafford in the fourth round today.
