I suppose if it is going to happen then the sooner the better so we have the rest of the window to do our own signings, rather than at the last minute.
£3m seems a tad light - around £4m would feel better and man more money to play with. But £3m wouldn't be too shabby either, especially as Liam isn't on top form yet.
The only trouble is that other Clubs will know we have a few quid to spend.
