We've hit the woodwork twice more than anyone else in the division (11 times). Although it was 8 prior to Blackpool game when we have hit it five times since then.

Why is it called woodwork? From when posts were wooden?!

Posts were always wooden until very recently as I am guessing anyone above the age of majority or so might know

yes - and - we - must - not - get - excited - about - this - or - anything - involving - any - form - of - emotional - response.

It - does - not - compute. It - is - illogical

I thought so!, I said to my son at the Charlton game "I swear Brighton hit the wood more than any team.

Does this mean that we've hit -- as opposed to got -- wood more times in the past three games, ie 7 (Charlton x2, Blackpool x2, Bournemouth x3) than we have in the rest of the season, ie 6?

What bugs me is on commentary, when they make "just skimmed the post" sound more dramatic than a normal hitting of the post bang on. Skimming the post is FURTHER from the target!

Best get Soccer am down to the training ground. At this rate we would smash all the opposition in The Crossbar Challenge. :)

Getting silly now - that's 15 more goals we could have had this season but for the bar or the post!

Well, not really, on the basis that if it hits the post, it's not on target.

A miss is, statistically, a miss, whether by two inches or twenty feet.

Conspiracy theorists would believe that there are magnets in the ball and goalposts that prevent goals being scored at certain points during the game.
