I can just picture a scene like a start of a marathon, with loads of Bulgarians and Romanians racing to come in. :lolol:

It was never about how many people where going to arrive today, it's how many people will arrive in the future.
People need to count the numbers not just from Romania and Bulgaria but every other EU country as well.

When you add up these numbers we are still looking at between 50,000 - 125,000 arriving every year in the UK.
Consider the following below where Romania and Bulgaria are already handed out passports to non EU citizens.

There is only one destiation where these peolpe are heading and that is the wealthier countries in the EU including us, with possibly the UK being one of the top destinations.

It's strange that the media don't quote the amount of people that leave this country each year.

They do - it's just hidden in the 'net migration' figure - i.e. the number that arrived, minus the number that left. Looks less Daily Mail-esque that way.

Considering the curbs to and cuts in social security benefits, and the tough eligibility conditions imposed on claimants, coupled with the low wages that many employers face, I genuinely cannot understand why 100,000s of migrants apparently want to come to Britain to work or 'scrounge' of benefits. Plus the weather is sh*t much of the time.

Can't help suspecting that these stories are intended to promote xenophobia and divide-and-rule, and thereby divert people's attention from the enormous salaries and wealth that the top 1% are accruing to themselves - turn people against each other, or a foreign enemy (migrants, asylum seekers, the EU, the former Soviet Union, etc), and those at the top can literally laugh all the way to the bank, while the proles bicker, fight and squabble among themselves.

'Twas ever thus, and tabloid readers fall for it ever single time.

prehaps because theres no news story to that and its got nothing to do with the issue?
was listening to radio this morning and a few Bulgarians who've been here a few years say we should keep out those not interested in working, one pointedly said the benefits system should be protected and only be for those who've put in. they also said they didnt think many were coming over as those wanting to are already here.

Might not be that many from Bulgaria or Romania but once again it is only day one, the figures need to be looked at again in 6-12 months time, also need to take in to consideration migration from other EU countries.
