Liam Bridcutt, a target for his former manager Gus Poyet
Albion are staying tight-lipped over the futures of Liam Bridcutt and Will Buckley.
Former Albion boss Gus Poyet has swooped on the Seagulls with bids for Bridcutt and Buckley to aid Sunderland's Premier League relegation fight.
The Telegraph claims the Black Cats have made a £2.5 million offer for midfielder Bridcutt and around £1 million for winger Buckley, who is out for a month with a torn hamstring.
A spokesman for Albion said this morning there would be no official comment from the club but The Argus understands the figures reported are inaccurate in both cases and both bids are regarded as derisory.*
Poyet signed Bridcutt and Buckley players during his reign at Albion, which came to an acrimonious end last summer when he was sacked for gross misconduct.
Bridcutt's possible departure has been well documented. The Uruguayan's interest in Buckley is more surprising, although Poyet claimed last year the former Watford winger is better than Wilfried Zaha, who left Crystal Palace for Manchester United for £10 million.
