Will has suffered a bad tear to the hamstring which will take time to recover. He's likely to be out for around four weeks"
Helge Riepenhof
Albion are expecting to be without Will Buckley for at least four weeks, after the winger suffered a hamstring tear in yesterday's 1-0 win at Blackpool.*
Buckley played an influential role in the victory at Bloomfield Road, but suffered the injury as he almost doubled Albion's advantage late in the game.
Club doctor Helge Riepenhof today confirmed the absence, but did have better news on Stephen Ward, Gordon Greer and Bruno.*
"Will has suffered a bad tear to the hamstring which will take time to recover. He's likely to be out for around four weeks.*
"Stephen took a nasty knock to his head, but wanted to carry on. However after he was sick on the pitch, we suspected he had concussion so had to take him off for his own safety."
Riepenhof says the club's medical staff will continue to monitor Greer and Bruno, with both edging towards a return.*
"Gordon is closer of the two; we will have to see how he goes over the next couple of training sessions as to whether he will be available for New Year's Day.*
"Bruno had a tight adductor in the game against Charlton on Boxing Day. Bournemouth and even Reading may come too soon for him, but he should not be out for too long."*
Meanwhile Riepenhoff confirmed long-term absentees Will Hoskins and Craig Mackail-Smith are both progressing well with their rehabilitation, and expects Mackail-Smith to return before the end of January.*
