Watched the Italian Job last night, the original version of course, for the first time in many years. Astonished to see the minis were red, white & blue but no chequered roof or go fast stripes. One of those things where memory plays tricks on you as I've always believed they had some sort of decoration on the roof.

The remake is indeed abysmal. Though I was never a big fan of the original.

The remake is one of the worst films I have ever seen. That said a good classic can never be remade. The original is one of my favourite films of all time.

I love the original film but even I'll admit there are quite a few rubbish bits in it, more than made up for of course by THAT car chase!

Actually no, a mate of mine has just written off his hilux, he forgot to put the handbrake on and it rolled down a bank a few times.

...one of the 1st films I went to see with friends at the Cinema and the journey home involved being given a lift in a mini !! One of my favourite films ever
