Friday Night's Friday Night

We were at a drinks party late Saturday afternoon (good decision) and these friends were going to Tesco afterwards to do their Christmas shop. I said "Saturday Night's Saturday Night!" and got completely blank looks. Not just from them, but from other people there. No-one had heard of - or used that expression.

How can it be so ? Am I the only one ?
