Albion women play their final match of 2013 this Sunday when they travel to Charlton.
*
John Donoghue’s side will be aiming to build on last week’s encouraging second-half display against Portsmouth, despite a narrow 2-1 defeat.
*
He told seagulls.co.uk, “The players remain positive as they realise that although we didn’t get the result, we created more opportunities and played some great football at times, better than in some of the games we have won this season.
*
“We were able to play our three new signings (Mollie Kmita, Rosie Kmita and Toni-Anne Wayne) and all had a positive impact. We let in two goals but had twice as many attempts as Portsmouth. If it wasn’t for their goalkeeper then the result would have been so different.
*
“We don’t know a lot about Charlton other than where they sit in the league; they have had some good results drawing with both Coventry and Cardiff who are second and third respectively.”
*
Sophie Perry is a doubt for the match after picking up a thigh injury in last week’s Sussex Representative game, while Kirsty Barton will be assessed after suffering a chest strain.
*
The game takes place at Thamesmead, 2pm kick-off.
*
Next three fixtures
22nd December Charlton Athletic (A)League
5th January Cardiff City (A)League
12th January Tottenham Hotspur (H)FA Cup
