The new sports bar facility will now give them the options to relax in a family-friendly environment"
Paul Barber
Albion's new matchday family facility, the Seven Stars Sports Bar, opens for the first time this Saturday before and after the match against Huddersfield Town - and will be offering a range of food and beverages for supporters arriving early or wishing to stay later at the stadium.
The new 150-capacity facility - located on the east side and replacing the East Stand Brasserie - will operate in a similar way to Dick's Bar on matchdays, but catering specifically for families. It will open at 11.30am until kick-off and after the final whiste until 8pm.
Chief executive Paul Barber explained, "Dick's Bar is a great venue for adults and adult groups, but the families among our fans asked us to create somewhere that they could relax in the same way those in Dick's can before and after matches.
"The new sports bar facility will now give them the options to relax in a family-friendly environment. There will be a similar range of food and drink options on offer to those available in Dick's Bar, and we hope it will become popular with families."
Executive director Martin Perry has overseen the refurbishment, and the new bar is named after the Seven Stars pub in Ship Street, Brighton, where the Albion were formed by John Jackson on 24th June 1901.
The bar also sports artwork paying tribute to sporting icons with a Sussex link, including Olympic gold medalists Steve Ovett and Sally Gunnell, world champion boxer Chris Eubank and former Albion schoolboy Gareth Barry.
