Why do they have to do this? The originals are brilliant, largely thanks to Leslie Nielsen, and really don't need rebooting.

Usual story of Hollywood chasing a fast buck. I have no idea who this alleged " star " is, and will have no interest.

Totally agree. There are loads of comparatively recent remakes where I have wondered why they bothered. But that part IS Leslie Nielsen's.

The original Naked Gun films were already a major step down in class from the Police Squad TV series. With Leslie Nielsen out of the equation as well, there is absolutely nothing left to work with.

I will not be watching.

Doing something similar is fair enough, but why do they insist on linking it to the originals? Why can't they just come up with something new?
