Kazenga LuaLua could start on the left wing
Kazenga LuaLua is on course for his first Albion start since early October.
And fellow wide man Will Buckley is poised for a return to the squad to face Huddersfield at The Amex on Saturday.
LuaLua is in pole position to replace Craig Conway on the left wing following the expiry of the Scottish international’s loan spell from Cardiff.
The former Newcastle flyer is on the comeback trail after knee surgery.
He aggravated a knee tendon problem in the home defeat by Nottingham Forest on October 5 and had an operation a couple of weeks later.
LuaLua has returned to action as a second-half substitute in the last two matches against Leicester and Middlesbrough.
He is the logical choice as a straight swap for Conway, as that would minimise the disruption to Oscar Garcia’s in-form side.
Buckley can also expect a place in the matchday 18, with Albion back on home soil.
He travelled but did not make the cut for last Saturday’s 1-0 win at Middlesbrough after hurting an ankle on his return from hamstring trouble as a second half substitute in the surprise defeat by Barnsley at The Amex at the start of the month.
Oscar’s assistant, Nathan Jones, said: "We always like to make positive substitutions. We made our first negative decision really (at Middlesbrough). We left Will Buckley out because we put an extra defender on (Lewis Dunk), knowing that Stephen Ward was kind of struggling.”
First choice goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak (stomach strain) and skipper Gordon Greer (calf) remain doubts after missing the Middlesbrough win, with Peter Brezovan and Adam El-Abd on standby to deputise again.
Leo Ulloa is expected to be on the bench again alongside Buckley following the Argentinian striker’s return from a foot bone fracture as a late substitute at Boro.
