Well in the same state this has happened, crazy.

I'm not saying this woman is an angel, but it just goes to show if you have money as per the Texas killers parents, strange things happen occasionally.

A North Texas woman has been sentenced to 70 years in prison after stealing Christmas lights.
Dana Brock, 43, was arrested last December after she was caught on camera stealing the lights out of a neighbor's front yard in Aledo, near Dallas.
She was arrested again five months later for stealing weed killer and a power washer.
Brock received such a tough sentence because of her criminal record.

Utterly stupid. Stealing can become highly addictive like gambling and extremely difficult habit to break. Some people literally cannot help themselves. Not saying they shouldn't be punished but some common sense is needed here.

Yeah common sense, if you're gonna get life for committing a crime 3 times you just don't do it

his is unbelievable (from the first case):

[The] teen's defense strategy included testimony that Couch suffered from "affluenza" -- a diagnosis not recognized by the American Psychiatric Association that refers to an upbringing so privileged that a person is unable to discern right from wrong.

Was he by any chance of a slightly non-white colouration? And as for the murderer who got off so lightly, well looks like his family may be paying quite a lot for his crimes. http://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/Vi...awsuits-Against-Affluenza-Teen-236006321.html
All I could see from the article was a couple of million. For a family that are apparently in the 1%, it doesn't seem much.
is anybody actually shocked, firstly, its America....and secondly, its Texas....theyre all mental over there

Isn't this the same state where a child beater is running for re-election for supreme judge or something? Seems a pretty backwards place.
