Don't drink it myself but need to get some for a present.

What's a quality but unusual vodka that you recommend & where can I easily get it in town?

Not 'unusual' (other than not many people buy it cos it's pricey!) but Grey Goose is a very good quality Vodka

What about the vodka in the skull bottle, not sure on quality but it is unusual. I'm pretty sure I've seen it in town too.

A friend used to travel to Poland a lot and always brought back some cracking smooth Vodka. I think it was called Debowa or similar. Some if it was 59% alcohol, strong stuff best drunk near and very cold!

My friend tried this a few years ago. We have some lovely pictures of him collapsing into his own vomit!!

A Polish friend recommend "ZUBROWKA" which has a slight yellow colour because it has a length of straw (the real stuff) in the bottle.

This is indeed cracking stuff, mixed with apple juice it tastes just like apple and cinnamon pie.

Again, not unusual but Grey Goose or Belviderre both very nice. Most supermarkets sell it and Xmas time, some come in fancy boxes or bottles to make it a bit different for a gift?
