Joel Lynch in action for Huddersfield against Albion last season
Joel Lynch has been denied the chance to lock horns with Albion.
The former Seagulls defender is suspended for Huddersfield’s visit to The Amex at the weekend.
Eastbourne-born Lynch was sent-off in stoppage time in the Yorkshiremen’s 1-0 home defeat by Reading on Saturday.
Manager Mark Robins has no sympathy for the Wales international centre-half. Robins branded Lynch’s red card as “avoidable”.
Captain and central defender Peter Clarke is already on Huddersfield’s casualty list but Robins could welcome back 12-goal striker James Vaughan.
The former Everton trainee, on target when Town were beaten 4-1 at The Amex last season, was rested from the Reading defeat due to a bruised ankle bone.
Robins said: “At one stage it looked as though it might become a longer-term problem but it hasn’t turned out that way and he may be available for Brighton.”
Huddersfield have slipped to 12th, four places and five points adrift of Albion, after losing their last two games.
