Brighton Christmas Lights

Spun Cuppa

Thanks Greens :(
Just to hijack the thread a tad, the B&H domestic Christmas lights are a bit sparse this year ??? Perhaps with leccy prices rocketing, people don't want to burn their juice on frivolities :nono:

Lets hope they get it right this year with the lights due to go up on Thursday 13th November and a mystery celebrity from the world of music booked to switch them on.

I've had word that this year the mystery celebrity will be Gary "Mudbone" Cooper, the Puerto Rican vocalist from 80's supergroup Sly Fox.

(seen here on the left).

He will be performing a solo acoustic version of their 1985 worldwide smash hit "Lets Go All The Way". His sidekick Michael Camacho will not be there though, as he was badly trampled by an enraged llama at a San Diego petting zoo in 2001, and subsequently died of his injuries some three weeks later.

A llama (not thought to be the one connected with the tragic incident).

Juice 107.2 will switch on the largest seasonal display of lights on the south coast at an event from 5pm on Thursday 13th November in East Street, Brighton, which will have a Soap theme for the many thousands of soap obsessed Brightonians. Joining us exclusively to switch on our lights we are proud to announce will be Coronation Street's Antony Cotton and former Eastenders star John Partridge.

In keeping with the city councils commitment to keeping the People of Brighton and Hove fit and healthy Mr Motivator will also be on hand to oversee possibly the worlds biggest ever simultaneous star jump and hand out 5-10% discount vouchers for smoothies and vegetables at leading supermarkets.

The FREE event, sponsored by Domestic & General and supported by Juice 107.2, will be also packed full of family fun with music, dance, street entertainers and a Grand Prize Giveaway. Attendees will have the opportunity to win prizes, including a games console, a designer handbag, tickets to Chelsea v Hull City and a brand new Hotpoint washing machine.

The Juice 107.2 breakfast crew will be on stage, welcoming a host of the city’s home-grown talent to keep the crowd entertained. First up, the Hangleton Youth Brass Band, with 58 members aged between 8-18 years and a plethora of trumpets and horns, this act is guaranteed to ignite that Christmassy feeling. Brighton’s Theatre Workshop will follow with a lively mash-up of music, dance and theatrical performance. Completing the line up, a performance from The Sleigh Belles, a Brighton harmony trio likened to The Puppini Sisters and booked to appear on ITV’s This Morning in December.

Seasonal characters in festive fancy dress, balloon modellers and stilt walkers will also be on hand, mingling with the crowd, spreading festive charm and entertaining the little ones.

Led by Juice 107.2’s Hanna Neter and Dan Gasser, the evening’s festivities will culminate in a countdown as the Lights are switched on across the city.

Mr Motivator & the camp bloke out of Coronation Street? Are you sure this is for 2014 and you've not accidentally copied & pasted the article from 2002?
