Players contracts

Been mentioned before, but we have a lot of players out of contract in summer, believe the players can start talking to other clubs 6 months before deal runs out. Does anyone else think we should start tying some of the players up now or are the club/players waiting to see what league we are in next year?

Here's the list of first teamers I believe-

Goalkeepers-
Brez
Casper
Koosh

Defenders-
Calderon
Bruno
Upson
Ward(loan ends)

Midfielders-
Lopez
Ince
Orlandi
Lua lua
Andrews(loan ends)

Strikers-
Barnes
Hoskins

Personally I would keep most of them!

Only foreign clubs can talk to our players I believe - domestic clubs can only make a move from the beginning of June.

Personally, I cant see Real Madrid wanting to sign Hoskins.

Agents can talk to who they want though !!!

But before you shriek in horror at those nasty agents, remember all clubs ours as well will be making moves to try and offload players too.

Let Hoskins go and keep the rest. We must keep Ince as he will run the show in years to come

Brez - keep
Casper - release
Koosh - we NEED him

Defenders-
Calderon - keep, such a legend that deserves it
Bruno - not sure
Upson - keep, great commanding presence
Ward(loan ends) - no renewal, should look for another

Midfielders-
Lopez - adios. Mediocrity has cost him dearly sadly, even though he's coming back I do not want another half season of below-par performances when we rely on him as a playmaker
Ince - keep, keep, KEEP
Orlandi - Keep wonderful player
Lua lua - keep, need wingers like him!
Andrews(loan ends) - naa

Strikers-
Barnes - keep, great work ethic
Hoskins - depends if he'll get a chance when he recovers.

Agree with most of these, although I think Ward has more than done enough for us to try and keep him. Looks solid and although not as threatening as Bridge going forward he has looked dangerous pushing on in the last few games. As a replacement for Bridge he's a pretty good one. Ince is a must.

Like Quinney, I too agree with most of this, and like your emphases. In terms of Ward, the decision will probably come when we know which divisions Wolves and Brighton are in. I think he's been extremely consistent. If, by some small chance, we make the Premiership, I'd prefer a faster alternative. We really will need to sort our defence out if it materialises.

Difficult to plan when there is always the possibility of the Premier when most would need replacing.

I think we have to see where we finish at the end of the season first. Although I can imagine clubs striking deals with our players beforehand though.

Bruno - If he plays like he did Saturday, keep. But being realistic, release.
Upson - keep.
Ward(loan ends) - Offer permanent deal.

Midfielders-
Lopez - release.
Ince - keep
Orlandi - Keep
Lua lua - keep
Andrews - gone

Strikers-
Barnes - keep
Hoskins - release

Other than these, I'd take any decent bids for Bridcutt and CMS - if he gets back to fitness of course.

I'd keep koosh, orlandi, lua lua, ince, and Bruno.

Also try to sign ward, who has been quality, and is proven at this level and higher

We'd have to sign another reserve keeper, in that case. I definitely keep Brez (not just because of his recent cameo), if he is willing.

Agreed. Ince's next stop will be the Premiership, with or without the Albion. Let's hope it's with.
