Ashley Barnes scored a goal in each half as fired-up Albion beat the Championship leaders.
Craig Conway was also on target and David Lopez played a starring role in two goals as the Seagulls defeated Leicester City 3-1 on a pulsating afternoon at The Amex.
It was a perfect way for the Seagulls to bounce back from the shock midweek defeat by Barnsley.
And a result made all the more impressive by the loss to injury of Tomasz Kuszczak in the warm-up and Gordon Greer early in the game.
Albion went ahead with a beautifully crafted goal down their right on nine minutes.
Bruno slid the ball into the path of David, who made ground and angled a superb ball along the turf, across the defence and into the path of Barnes, who converted beyond the far post.
Leicester responded with a bight spell and Matthew Upson had to produce a potential goal-saving challenge as Jamie Vardy prepared to let fly in front of goal.
But the Seagulls broke out of defence with a terrific second goal on 29 minutes.
Again David was the creator, with a perfectly weighted and timed ball through for Conway, who chested down on to his right foot and flashed a low drive past Kasper Schmeichel.
Leicester offered plenty of glimpses as to why they have enjoyed such a strong start to the season.
They worked their way back into the game when Andy King was left unmarked at the far post to head home at a free-kick on 64 minutes.
But Albion rode out the storm, with Brezovan in assured form between the posts.
And they restored their two-goal cushion when Barnes crashed home a penalty on 77 minutes after being pushed by Wes Morgan.
