Wanted to take the family out for lunch Sunday, somewhere out of town, with a garden (we will wear ski clothes !). Pub, Cafe, Restaurant, fairly easy on choice, but nice food and a pretty setting please ?

I thought the food was a bit, well, "chain" unless it's changed lately. Nice location, though, right opposite Hassocks Golf Club.

I think its an Embers Inn, so yes its a chain, but on the whole I think they're infinitely better than the Harvesters and Spoons of this world. Can't speak for the roasts, but I had an evening meal there last summer and wasn't disappointed.
