Will Buckley will be missing again at Bournemouth tomorrow
Albion*will be without Will Buckley for the third match running at Bournemouth tomorrow.
The winger’s continuing absence alongside several other forwards persuaded the Seagulls to keep hold of Solly March, rather than loaning out the teenage prospect.
Buckley missed the victories against Blackburn and Wigan with a hamstring injury. He is also likely to sit out Tuesday’s home game against Barnsley as well as Bournemouth.
Head coach Oscar Garcia revealed to The Argus: “He hasn’t taken part in training and he will not be available. He isn’t 100% so the best thing is to keep him training with the physiotherapist.
“Maybe next week he will start taking part. Tuesday maybe too soon for him.”
Leo Ulloa (foot), Kazenga LuaLua (knee), Craig Mackail-Smith and Will Hoskins (knee) are also still sidelined for varying periods so Albion rejected interest in the versatile March from two League One clubs before the loan window closed yesterday.
The attacking midfielder or winger could now be loaned out in January, depending on circumstances.
Oscar said: “We have to wait, because we have five forward players injured and we want to keep him until January. In January we will see what is the best solution for him and also for the club.
“A lot of things can happen before then so it is not easy to say whether in January he will be available for loan. At the moment we don’t have many options in forward positions and we want to keep him because we trust him.
“We know he is one of the most talented young players we have but we also want him playing every week, because that is the way to improve.
“We must be sure if he goes on loan that he plays every week. If not we will keep him here and he can improve with our training sessions much more than at another place.”
Irish midfielder Keith Andrews, ruled out of the Blackburn and Wigan wins by a calf problem, is back in contention to face Bournemouth, although the best he can hope for is a place on the bench.
Oscar confirmed: “He has trained all week and he is available for selection.”
