Steve Cook scores for Albion in the Sussex Senior Cup final in 2011
Albion will not be out of pocket if Steve Cook gets a move to the Premier League.
The Seagulls protected their interests with a sell-on clause when they sold Cook, pictured, to Saturday’s hosts Bournemouth.
The 22-year-old’s form for Bournemouth this season has reportedly attracted interest from West Brom, Norwich and Crystal Palace, as well as QPR and Leicester.
Albion sold Cook to the Cherries for a £170,000 fee rising to around £300,000 with potential add-ons in January 2012.
His chances of appearing alongside fellow former Seagull Tommy Elphick in the centre of defence on Saturday depend on the results of a scan on a left leg injury after he was stretchered off in the closing stages of the 1-0 home defeat by Derby County.
Elphick, the Bournemouth captain, was restored to the starting line-up against Derby in place of Elliott Ward, who has been ruled out for two months by a calf injury.
Albion have reminded season ticket holders they are not entitled to free admission to tomorrow night’s Sussex Senior Cup tie against Arundel at Lancing (7.45pm). Entry to the second round match at Culver Road costs £5 for adults, £2 for OAPs and under 16s.
