ALBION matchwinner Andrew Crofts is getting that Championship promotion feeling again.
Crofts went up with Norwich two seasons ago and the midfielder believes the Seagulls are capable of following suit after scoring the goal which ended Wigan's unbeaten home run.
Saturday's 1-0 win at the DW Stadium was the third in a row for Oscar Garcia's improving side and lifted them to ninth, their highest position of the campaign, only two points outside the play-offs.
Crofts, now top scorer with five goals, told The Argus: “We’re good enough to definitely challenge for something this year. We’ve got a really good side, with all the boys coming back (from injury).
“It’s a tough, tough league but everyone knows when they play Brighton they are in for a game.
“I get a good feeling, a really good feeling, but there is a long way to go, with 16 games played.
“There is a lot of football to be played and there will be a few more ups and downs but if we keep putting in performances like that we’ll definitely win more than we lose.
“Wigan have got a really good team and squad and they will be there or thereabouts, because they have some real quality. That’s why to go there and beat them is a massive result.”
Head coach Oscar Garcia used an opportunity to inflict a first home defeat of the season on Wigan as a motivational tool in his teamtalk.
He said: “I am very pleased and proud, because the players gave 100 per cent and their desire to win was the most important thing.”
