Matt Upson has urged Albion not to give Wigan too much respect in the quest for another good result against one of the Premier League fall guys.
The Seagulls achieved successive 0-0 draws away from home at Queens Park Rangers and Reading in September.
They are still the only team to have avoided defeat in the Championship at Rangers and only three others have picked up a point at Reading, who remain unbeaten at home.
FA Cup winners Wigan, the other club relegated from the Premier League last season, are also undefeated at home, a statistic Upson hopes to change in today’s clash at the DW Stadium.
The former England centre-half told The Argus: “I guess you do have to cater for the opposition in a certain respect.
“We’re aware of them but you don’t want to give them too much respect.
“We go and play our game and we play the high tempo, we’re aggressive and we’re assertive and we put our mark on the game, which I think we did in both those other games.
“That’s something we need to do again and then hopefully we can win.”
Wigan, a point and a place higher in tenth with a game in hand, are gradually getting their act together under former Bolton and Burnley boss Owen Coyle after Roberto Martinez moved to Everton in the summer.
Albion head coach Oscar Garcia said: “They have a strong squad. They can play with two different elevens and they will be fighting for promotion.
“It takes time but they are unbeaten at home and they are doing really well in the Europa League.
“We have a squad that can compete with any team. We will go to Wigan to have a go and try to pick up the three points.”
