I can't help thinking this isn't as charitable act as it would first appear.
As SS says you've got the book tie-in.

But also, DK owns a million pretty much worthless shares and sells them for £1, surely they have more value than worth.

God help the AGM, many Albion fans need less entitlement not more.

Won't the club have to send reports out to all share holders?

Well I would love to buy one. DK really doesn't sound happy about what's going on behind the scenes at the Albion, and this could be another little parting gift for TB. Either that or its a marvellous marketing wheeze for his book.

I fully agreed with him that the Albion shouldn't ever again be majority owned by just one person, and I thought everyone did at that time. Therefore I have never really been sure why TB, a lifelong Albion fan, wouldn't be content with 49.5% of the shares.

I think HE should DONATE all of THEM to the ARS

Presumably TB can also buy some of his shares, he meets the criteria?

That's my Dads Christmas present sorted out then. The book and some shares in the club.

Presumably you would be responsible for some of the club's debts if you were a shareholder?

No - you have a limited liability. As long as the share is paid for, there is no further possible liability for you. You may be invited to purchase more shares and/or find your holding diluted, but that would be it.

I'm not sure of the obligation of Limiteds to communicate/report to all shareholders, but DK could be delivering the ultimate "**** you" to the club here, by passing on the administrative burden to communicate regularly to (tens of) thousands of shareholders for ever more.

Who wouldn't want to own a small slice of the Albion?
