Albion boss Oscar Garcia has welcomed the return to action of Liam Bridcutt.
The defensive midfielder, player of the season for the last two years, made his comeback from injury as a second-half substitute in the victory over Blackburn at The Amex.
It was Bridcutt’s first outing since the Capital One Cup tie against Newport County in early August after hernia surgery and then a recurrence of a pubic bone problem kept him on the sidelines.
Head coach Oscar said: “I am very happy. We wanted to get Liam some minutes under his belt and I think he played well. What we want now is a for him to be fit enough to play until the end of the season.”
Bridcutt was joined on the bench by another of Albion’s long-term injury victims Kemy Agustien, although the Dutch midfielder was not called upon.
A calf injury ruled out fellow midfielder Keith Andrews against his old club but the Irishman and winger Will Buckley (hamstring) should also be available when the Seagulls resume after the international break at Wigan on November 23.
Back-to-back wins have lifted Albion to 11th after Wigan won 1-0 at Yeovil yesterday.
