My only experience is based on speaking to someone on Skype who was using one, the picture quality was poor, and it didn't handle low(ish) light very well.

Very pleased with mine except the camera which is poor all the tech reviews are complimentary.one advantage is its robust construction and price means you do not have to be too precious about it.

Yes, I've got a Hudl. Really pleased with it, and they get good reviews on PC Pro, Which?, and (oops) The One Show.

have one at work, its seems alright for just doing simple social media things, im not expecting it to be giving me the most fantastic overall experience but it does the job.

Once you've disabled all the Tesco and Google popups it's ok for simple stuff like email, browsing and movie downloads.
Lots of free Android apps and games available.
Got mine with 60 quids worth of Tesco vouchers. Just about the right price.

Give it a month and those people who are spying a bargain now will be posting on NSC asking for help in removing the crapware, asking why it won't switch on any more, why it's become incredibly slow or won't install the new version of Android.
