Palace are apparently set to appoint former Real Madrid player and coach Aitor Karanka as their new manager, so assuming he survives their inevitable relegation in about February/March, and assuming that our former Barcelona player and coach Oscar Garcia doesn't manage to guide our fully-fit side to the promised land it could add a fun side note to our clashes next season - preferably aided by a Barca player or two on loan here.

Could be a colour issue though, with Palace having stolen Barca's kit.

How close are they to getting Karaka then? I thought Parish would bottle it and go for Pulis or a similar sandbagger.

Good appointment if true. Very much an Oscar like choice. Building for next season back in the Champ.

Apparently he's flying in on Monday for a second interview - heavy favourite so far as I can tell.
