Just got in, left my wallet on a bus in Doncaster but aside from that a grand day out.

Kuszcack - 7 Not a lot of questions asked but dealt with most of what came at him tidily.

Bruno - 6 Didn't get tested much in first half, played some decent balls and a few duds.
Greer - 7 Looked solid
Upson 7 - Looked solid
Ward - 7 - Looked solid

JFC - 6 Great goal and started well but faded a lot, wasn't up to it when they were pressuring us after half time.
Crofts - 6 - Workman like
Andrews - 7 - Looked sharp

Conway - 2.5 - Useless, and that was the first time I'd seen him so I was going in without bias.
Buckley - 6 - Very rarely put in a cross, don't remember him once beating a man but did link up well.
Barnes - 8 - Did an unglamorous job very well, won a lot despite their big black center back being all over him. Deserved a goal.

Lita - 8 - Looked lively, a 4-4-2 should be at the very least strongly considered before the next match.
Calderon - 6 - Looked solid.
Lopez - 3 - I went to grab some food when Bruno went down injured so I didn't see who replaced him, took me about 15 minutes to realize he was on the pitch and then I forgot about him again until the free kick, and it was quality but beyond that he offered nothing.

We played the game like it was a friendly match until the 80th minute, no real bite or determination from the midfield. Forster-Caskey stood out in the first-half and looked the best player on the pitch by a long way. Doncaster are a really, really poor side, I'll be amazed if they stay up this season.

Good to get a win whilst playing poorly for the majority of the game.

People said the same about Yeovil...next match they went and best Forest 3/1

Yes, but unless I really wasn't paying attention both subs happened at once?

Edit: apparently I really wasn't paying attention. Anyway, he was shit.

Are you sure about the Barnes mark Husty? I've read quite a bit about how he's a total waste of a place on here this evening

These threads get me down: a.) I can't get to many games b.) It seems people still think we're playing shit: even when we win 3-1 against a team seemingly well up for a battle! Looking at the goals, we seem to have a problem conceding avoidable bobbly bloody awful goals... that apart we must have been at the races today or surely we'd have been on the wrong end of a 3-1 score line... The critique of the performance seems far too harsh to me... I'm happy regardless. So there.

I didn't think we played shit at all, I thought we looked great in the first 20 and the first half was comfortable, they came out fired up after half time but despite a lot of possession didn't engineer much. Upped it when we needed to and can be happy with the 3 points.

When you can go away from home and play a bit pedestrian and come away with 3 points then it's not a cause for moaning.

Also, it is entirely possible to play shit and still win, I try very hard to not let the result influence my player ratings either way.
For me a 5 is an 'average' performance, so I thought most of the team played well considering we were away from home but there were a couple of exceptions.

Was thinking exactly the same thing mate - its irrelevant

re Barnes, does it matter what colour the 'big centre back' was ?

It's relevant since it differentiates him from the other centre back. There is nothing racist about describing someone as black; it's as acceptable as describing someone by their distinctive hair colour or style.

Way out west
Did anyone else notice the strong wind blowing straight down the pitch in the first half and straight across in the second. Do you not think this had some bearing on our ability to control the ball as usual?

I always think these 'Just back from the match' threads are more of a 'look at me, I went to (insert town/city here) and I reckon I'm an uberfan thread.

If you want to post about the game, there's a thread out there somewhere I'm sure, or maybe even start one about players ratings? It might catch on.

So you went up North and basically want to 'brag' about it. Twats.
