Remember this? Albion enjoy their last away goal, at Birmingham in August
Oscar Garcia has called on Albion to seize the chance to end their away goal drought at Doncaster Rovers today.
Oscar’s injury-hit squad have not scored on their travels since the win at Birmingham in mid-August, a famine spanning six hours and 17 minutes.
The head coach admitted to The Argus: “It’s the main problem we have. When you have chances and you are playing well, if you don’t score it seems as if you are not playing well.
“Because of this I’m happy with the performances but not happy with our ability in front of goal.”
Albion have won only twice in ten matches since Andrew Crofts secured victory at Birmingham.
Six draws in the sequence include the last two games, at home to Watford and away to Yeovil, along with creditable points at QPR and Reading. Oscar said: “It’s much more important to win games in this league but when you draw sometimes it is a good feeling.
“We’ve had draws in difficult away games. We always try to win.
“Against Yeovil we had chances to score but didn’t take them. Against Watford the game and the chances were more balanced.”
Stephen Ward is expected to continue at left-back after a quicker than expected recovery from a hamstring injury sustained against Watford.
