We are a family friendly club and we want to actively encourage as many fans, both home and away supporters, to the stadium as possible"
Gavin Baldwin
Albion’s opponents on Saturday, Doncaster Rovers, have launched a number of initiatives for away supporters.Rovers have introduced an away fans guide as well as a Twitter account specifically for away fans that gives help and advice on how to get the stadium, places to eat and drink, where to stay and information on Doncaster in general.
One initiative is at every home match a family from the away supporters is chosen at random to sit in the away team dug out for the pre-match warm up and where possible meets the away team manager.
Meanwhile for Albion’s visit, the first 100 junior supporters that enter the ground will have chance to pick up a free Brighton gift.
Gavin Baldwin, chief executive of Doncaster Rovers FC, said: “We have been working hard to ensure that away supporters enjoy going to support their team at the Keepmoat and make a return visit season after season.
“We are a family friendly club and we want to actively encourage as many fans, both home and away supporters, to the stadium as possible.
“We have got a great reputation within the Football League as being a family friendly club and very welcoming of away supporters and our new initiatives reinforce this.
“We all know how expensive it can be to support your team at away matches so by introducing the new schemes and offers hopefully more away fans will make the trip to the Keepmoat.
“I hope away fans respond well to our new initiatives and we look forward to welcoming more of them at the Keepmoat Stadium throughout the season.”
Rovers new away twitter feed is @DRFC_Away
