Or put a note through the letterbox with your mobile number on it, asking them to call or text you with their number…

I think when you sign up for a phone contract you have to opt out if you don't want to be listed in the network's own directory listings. All the big networks have their own version of 118 118 and if you know the network of your intended victim you may get lucky when calling this network's directory service, to find out they haven't opted out of being listed
