Liam Bridcutt has only played one league game this season
Albion have been given a timely boost on the injury front, with Liam Bridcutt scheduled to return to training tomorrow.
The holding midfielder, player of the season for the last two years, has not featured for the Seagulls since the opening two games of the campaign.
Bridcutt started the Championship defeat at Leeds United in early August and was a late substitute in the Capital One Cup exit against Newport County at The Amex three days later.
He then had hernia surgery and his return to action has been delayed by aggravating a long-standing pubic bone injury during his recovery.
Bridcutt’s absence has been a huge blow for head coach Oscar Garcia. The Scottish international was Albion’s key player under Gus Poyet and is just as important to Oscar’s plans.
The Spaniard told The Argus: “He has been the best player for the team in the past two seasons.
“He was able to play only one (league) game, against Leeds. I was hoping he would play as he has played in the last two seasons.”
Albion’s development team face Lancing in the new Under-21s Cup at Lancing tonight (7pm) with the prize of a home tie against Chelsea awaiting the winners next month.
