LEROY Lita is in contention to make his full debut for Albion tonight.
The on-loan Swansea striker is vying for a starting spot with Ashley Barnes for Watford’s visit.
Lita made his first appearance since his move from Wales as a second half replacement for Barnes in the Seagulls’ 0-0 draw at Yeovil nine days ago.
Nathan Jones has talked up the former Reading marksman’s progress in training.
Jones, Albion’s assistant head coach, said: “He is looking sharper and getting sharper. He will be a week or two away but he wants to play. He really wants to do well and he knows the position.
“Experience can sometimes be invaluable when you are trying to get fitness and that timing and everything going. He’s not too far off.”
There is no immediate prospect of Albion capturing another striker on loan after losing out to Leeds in their bid to land Dexter Blackstock.
The Seagulls have no plans to sign temporary cover for left-winger Kazenga LuaLua, with fellow knee surgery victim Andrea Orlandi on course to return next month.
